Leaving His Job in Wisconsin Behind Gov. Walker Hits the Presidential Campaign Trail

Travels to Iowa to Woo Tea Party Extremists Before Jetting to California for Koch Brothers Confab in Pursuit of His Personal Political Ambition

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is on the campaign trail for a new job this weekend. Before jetting off to California to meet with the right-wing billionaire Koch brothers he’s making a stop in Iowa to address Tea Party Republican Rep. Steve King’s Freedom Summit.

The following are the statements of One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross:

“Gov. Walker’s priorities and ambitions are laid bare by his actions this weekend. In just over a week he’s supposed to introduce Wisconsin’s $70 billion plus state budget. But he knows he must do well in Iowa if he hopes to be the GOP nominee for President in 2016, so he’s traveling there to court the votes of Tea Party extremists.

“He also knows he needs big campaign cash so he’s jetting to California this weekend to woo the Koch brothers.

“Scott Walker is politics incarnate. He’s been running for office his entire adult life, and has spent over 75% of it in elected office. It’s always about the next election with him, and he’s proven time and again that he’ll do and say anything to win.

“Checking all the radical Tea Party boxes with policies, aggressively selling out to big money power brokers and having the head of the massive right-wing funder the Bradley Foundation as his campaign co-chair make Scott Walker the ‘Badger in waiting’.”
