Ryan’s ‘Growing Campaign Chest’… Filled with Out of State Implants
A lengthy piece entitled “Ryan’s Campaign Chest Growing” in today’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the Young Gun, claims only 10 percent of Paul Ryan’s contributions this filing period came from outside of Wisconsin.
One Wisconsin Now pointed out the other day that Ryan had been deceptive in his release on his filing when he wrote that “Wisconsin residents account for 95 percent of Ryan’s individual contributions over the course of the past year.”
After seeing the Journal Sentinel story, OWN did a quick analysis. Turns out Ryan’s lyin’ if he’s saying he got all but 10 percent of his campaign cash from inside the Badger State this period.
Ryan nabbed $374,884 dollars in the latest finance period. $227,911 is from individuals, and $146,905 is from PAC. Looking at those PAC checks, only $7,000 is from PACs in Wisconsin — meaning $139,000 is from out-of-state.
This would put him at around 40 percent out of state.
I’m sure Ryan will correct this error with the reporter promptly.
