Republican Congressional Delegation Owes Wisconsin Answers About TrumpCare
Who Loses Coverage? How Much Will it Cost? Who Pays?
MADISON, Wis. — Washington D.C. Congressional Republicans along with Donald Trump have, more than seven years after vowing to do so, finally produced a health care bill. The previously secret plan proposes measures that would deliver huge tax breaks to the wealthiest and insurance companies while stripping millions of Americans of their current health care coverage.
Speaker Paul Ryan has indicated it is his intention to ram the legislation through the U.S. House of Representative as quickly as possible with a minimum of scrutiny by legislative committees, proposing to move forward before estimates of the plan’s cost and impacts on the health of Americans are completed by the Congressional Budget Office.
Questions to which Wisconsin constituents are owed answers by the Republican Congressional delegation of Senator Ron Johnson and Representatives Sean Duffy, Mike Gallagher, Glenn Grothman, Jim Sensenbrenner and even Speaker Paul Ryan are:
- How many Wisconsin citizens will lose their health care coverage under your plan?
- How much will your plan’s proposed tax breaks for the wealthy and insurance companies cost taxpayers?
- How specifically do you propose to pay for your plan?
- State legislative Republicans have raised concerns about a negative impact of your plan on the Wisconsin state budget. What are the fiscal consequences to the state of your plan?
