While Walker Rewards Corporations, Pres. Obama Focuses on Protecting Middle Class
Plan to Protect Middle Class Tax Breaks 'Critical' to Moving Economy Forward
MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross released the following statements regarding President Obama’s call for Congress to extend tax breaks for the middle class while allowing those for the wealthiest Americans to expire.
“President Obama knows that a strong middle class is the only way to create a strong economy. It’s the difference between his vision for the country and Congressional Republicans who want more tax breaks for millionaires and corporations that ship our jobs overseas. Unfortunately, Wisconsin has seen the failed policies of Scott Walker cripple our state’s economy and job creation. Walker’s recipe of cutting taxes on corporations and the wealthiest, while raising taxes on seniors and working families by $70 million led to one of the worst job records in the country. President Obama has cut taxes on the middle class every year and the nation has grown by millions of jobs.”
