Big Bang to Highlight One Wisconsin Now’s Inaugural Day ‘Rock the Pantry’ Charity Event

All Funds Will Go to Family Assistance Charities

MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now has signed Madison super-group “Big Bang” to headline its “Rock the Pantry” progressive rally at the Majestic Theatre the night of Scott Walker’s gubernatorial inauguration January 3. All proceeds from tickets will go directly to charities assisting people hit hardest by the economic collapse, unlike the Republican fundraisers planned by Walker.

“One Wisconsin Now is thrilled to have Big Bang playing our alternative inaugural event,” said Scot Ross, One Wisconsin Now. “Our ‘Rock the Pantry’ is a chance for progressives to get together and do good for those who have really suffered from the economic collapsed caused by failed Republican policies. Scott Walker may not care about our neighbors in need, but progressives absolutely do.”

Walker’s committee announced recently 100 percent of all contributions to his various inaugural events will go toward either his campaign account or the Republican Party of Wisconsin. In contrast, Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle donated over $500,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wisconsin.

“Rock the Pantry” will be held at the Majestic Theatre on King Street in Madison from 7-10p.m. The event will include Big Bang, as well as progressive speakers. DJ Andrew Larson from Saturn’s 8 will also provide music entertainment for the event.

Big Band is comprised of veteran musicians Francie Phelps, Michael Ripp, Jay Moran, Kyle Henderson, Michael Massey and Tony Cerniglia.

“Progressives are united in their fight to protect working families and those in need from the corporate special interests,” said Ross. “Scott Walker is demanding Wisconsinites make partisan political campaign contributions in order to participate in his inauguration activities. ‘Rock the Pantry’ is for anyone who wants to do some good on Inauguration Day.”

More information about the event and how to order tickets in advance is available on at the “Rock the Pantry” event page on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=158399690872143. Tickets will also be available the day of the event at the Majestic box office.
