Walker, GOP Rigging Elections to Keep Students, Parents, Displaced Workers from Holding Them Accountable'
MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross released the following statements regarding the Republican-controlled state legislature’s attacks on student voting rights and the right to hold elected officials accountable through the recall process.
“Gov. Scott Walker and the Republicans slashed higher education by $330 million and now they are rigging the elections so that students, parents and displaced workers can’t hold Walker and the Republicans accountable. When legal voters are disenfranchised because of Walker and the Republicans, it will cost the taxpayers millions of dollars, but the price of losing our democracy is even higher.”
