Statements on Clear Channel Decision to Remove Voter Suppression Billboards

These billboards were an assault on the voters and the people of Wisconsin deserve to know who paid to attack the sacred right to vote in such an unseemly manner.

MADISON, Wis. — Scot Ross, One Wisconsin Institute Executive Director, released the following statements on news Clear Channel would reportedly be removing the anonymously-funded voter suppression billboards targeting communities of color around Milwaukee, which have sprung up for a second consecutive November election cycle in Wisconsin.

“These billboards were an assault on the voters and the people of Wisconsin deserve to know who paid to attack the sacred right to vote in such an unseemly manner. It remains that the only fraud which exists are partisans manipulating the system and attacking the franchise to serve their political goals.”
