Shock Trash Gets Appropriately Recycled
“I don’t care what literature you send me, but I just think they went too far.”
This was the reaction of just one Racine resident who opened an unwelcome package from that county’s affiliate of Wisconsin Right to Life – a two-inch plastic fetus.
But looking at their agenda, sending plastic shock toys (which this resident said she was recycling) is par for the course.

This was the reaction of just one Racine resident who opened an unwelcome package from that county’s affiliate of Wisconsin Right to Life – a two-inch plastic fetus.
But looking at their agenda, sending plastic shock toys (which this resident said she was recycling) is par for the course. Consider just a few of their priorities:
- Allowing pharmacists to deny birth control to women
- Opposing preventative low-cost health care for poor women
- Criminalizing all abortions, regardless of the consequences
- Supporting punitive “informed consent” laws
Reached by the press, a staffer for the anti-choice Racine group said the stunt was meant to be “educational.”
For many though, it serves as a reminder that we need to remain vigilant in protecting the rights of women and men to access the full spectrum of safe and legal health care options available under the law.
