One Wisconsin Institute Statements on Schott Senate Panel Vote
MADISON, Wis. — Analiese Eicher, program director for One Wisconsin Institute, offered the following statements regarding the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote in favor of Wisconsin attorney Donald Schott’s nomination to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
“It is long past time for the Senate to do its job and fill the longest judicial vacancy in the nation. This seat has been vacant for 2,352 days. Sen. Ron Johnson must do his job and demand his Republican leadership bring this nomination for an up or down vote on the Senate floor.”
One Wisconsin Institute is a member of the Why Courts Matter Coalition focused on ensuring that the federal judiciary is representative of America’s diverse population and ending the judicial vacancy crisis.
