Walker Toasting Chamber of Commerce Lobby, Refusing to Meet Unemployed Workers
Corporate Giveaways, Special Interest Favors Abound, While Middle Class Ignored
MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross released the following statements on Gov. Scott Walker’s appearance at the 100th anniversary party for the corporate special interest lobbying group, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, while he continues to host a public event with middle class families in need. One Wisconsin Now is the founder of the corporate accountability website www.WMCWatch.org.
“Gov. Scott Walker will raise champagne flutes with his corporate benefactors at Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, but he won’t so much as meet with a room full of middle class families falling behind because of WMC-led pro-corporate, anti-middle class policies. Not content with giving $2.3 billion in tax breaks to corporations and the rich, Walker has an entire new slate of anti-family, pro-corporate measures in his coming ‘Corporate Special Interest Session.’”
