Bradley Foundation Primary in Full Swing

MADISON, Wis. — As the Republican Presidential carnival travels to Wisconsin in advance of another debate, several contenders were not competing for the support of Gov. Scott Walker and the statistical zero percent of the GOP primary voters he commanded upon his exit from the race. Instead, According to One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross, the hopefuls are seeking the backing of the right-wing Bradley Foundation run by his campaign co-chair Michael Grebe.

“The Bradley Foundation is part of the fabric of state and national GOP politics — promoting right wing policies and defending favored politicians,” commented Ross. “Michael Grebe may have failed in his effort to elevate Scott Walker as a contender on the national stage, but he has multiple suitors who’d like to have the support of him and his checkbook among those who remain in the field.”

Jeb Bush and Rand Paul held Milwaukee area events featuring the Bradley Foundation’s pet project, privatizing public education. Meanwhile Marco Rubio attended an event in support of Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, who was critical in passing a statewide expansion of the unaccountable private school vouchers and maintains close relations with the school privatization cabal’s campaign operation.

A report from One Wisconsin Now, P is For Payoff, exposed how Grebe through the Bradley Foundation orchestrated a comprehensive propaganda campaign to support the privatization of public education in Wisconsin. At least $31 million was spent by the Bradley Foundation promoting education privatization, including support for academics providing favorable pro-privatization pseudo-science, media personalities promoting the privatization agenda and lobbying organizations advocating for privatization legislation.

Ross concluded, “Simple math says that the statistical zero percent support Scott Walker’s disastrous seventy one day campaign garnered isn’t much use to the remaining GOP presidential aspirants. But the support of Walker’s campaign chair Michael Grebe, who commands the over $800 million at the right-wing Bradley Foundation is a real prize.”
