Brava Magazine Tabs One Wisconsin Now’s Analiese Eicher One of 2014’s ‘Women to Watch’
MADISON, Wis. — Madison’s Brava Magazine has named One Wisconsin Now’s Program and Development Director, Analiese Eicher, one of 2014’s “Women to Watch.” Eicher will be honored at an event tonight, along with fellow “Women to Watch,” for enriching the community and providing an example for all of empowered women.
One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross commented, “We’re incredibly proud to have Analiese on our team. Her efforts on the student loan debt crisis have been key in building a state and national movement to solve the crisis of student loan debt and create momentum for policy changes that will restore fairness to a broken system for current and future borrowers.”
Eicher joined One Wisconsin Now in January 2013 and has helped lead One Wisconsin Now and its partner organization, One Wisconsin Institute’s, student loan debt campaign. One Wisconsin Institute has conducted groundbreaking research on the economic impact of the $1.2 trillion student loan debt crisis on the Wisconsin and national economy. Eicher is working to bring together a coalition of state and national organizations to increase the civic engagement of student loan borrowers and to and encourage policy makers to enact reforms helping both current and future borrowers.
Prior to joining One Wisconsin Now, Eicher worked as Government Relations Director for the United Council of UW Students, an advocacy organization focused on issues of higher education on behalf of University of Wisconsin System students. She also served as a member of the Dane County Board of Supervisors, representing District 5, and has been active as a volunteer and staff member for political campaigns and civic engagement efforts.
“Analiese is testament that the progressive movement in Wisconsin will remain strong for years and years to come,” Ross said. “Whether the fight is student loan debt, voter access, or ensuring women are treated equally in the workplace and the public policy debate, new generation leaders like Analiese will be there every step of the way.”
