Gov. Walker’s Legal Defense Fund Announcement Leaves Questions Unanswered
Who's contributing? How much? When?
MADISON, Wis. — Thirty-seven days after announcing he “lawyered up” in the ongoing criminal investigation of his administration, Gov. Walker has announced he’s created a legal defense fund.
But the questions still remain. Who’s contributing to the fund that will presumably be used to pay for his team of criminal defense attorneys? How much have they given? When did they give? And what, if any, business do they have with the State of Wisconsin?
“The Governor’s late Friday afternoon announcement, again, raises more questions than it answers. Hopefully it won’t take another month and a half for the Governor to come clean with the people of Wisconsin and he’ll immediately begin disclosing who’s paying for his criminal defense lawyers,” said Mike Browne, One Wisconsin Now Deputy Director.
