People is people
I’m in a waiting time right now. There are times that make many people uncomfortable on a variety of levels. Silence in many instances is uncomfortable for some people and they seek to fill it. Waiting in many instances is uncomfortable for some people and they seek to do something, anything.
For me, the silences and the waiting between events is often what most truly defines life. It’s during those times that one gets to really know oneself and one’s relationship with the rest of the world. Many times, I notice people scurrying from one event to another or filling one silence with meaningless noise that doesn’t significantly add to their lives.
I am is sufficient. I shouldn’t need “I am an auditor” or “I am a member of Brookmeade Church” or “I am a husband, brother, son, uncle.”
May we all embrace and enjoy the “being” part of our role as human beings.
