Photographic Evidence of Scott Walker’s Phony Badger Boosterism

We’ve been appalled by Gov. Scott Walker’s phony Wisconsin Badger boosterism during the historic run of the men’s basketball team at this year’s NCAA tournament. After all, this guy is currently calling for a $300 million cut to the UW System in his current budget, on top of horrific cuts in his ’11 budget and raids on reserve funds in his ’13 budget.

As our deputy director and UW alum Mike Browne observed, “A picture paints a thousand words. And this one really captures the essence of Scott Walker’s rank hypocrisy and phony fandom.”

Above is a photo montage of fans and the 2013/14 team that made the Final Four personally tweeted by Gov. Walker last night congratulating the Badgers on their 2014/15 season.

How do we know? One of the fans featured in the photo is a former intern here who confirms the photo was taken prior to the team leaving for their Final Four appearance last year. And the player featured in the two upper right hand photos, #1 Ben Brust, is no longer on the team, he was a senior in the 2013/14 season.
