He Did It Again: Senate Candidate Rick Gudex Lies, Again, About Support for the Radical Constitutional Amendment That He Signed On To

MADISON, Wis. — In a radio interview today, State Senate candidate Rick Gudex lied, again, about his support for a radical state constitutional amendment that would ban all abortions including for victims of rape and when the mother’s life is endangered and likely ban in vitro fertilization, stem cell research, and even could lead to police investigations of miscarriages.

One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross commented, “Rick Gudex has proven again today that he has a serious problem with telling the truth to the public about the extreme policies that he said, in writing, that he supports.”

The very first question asked by Pro-Life Wisconsin on their questionnaire for candidates seeking their endorsement is:

“Would you vote in favor of a state constitutional amendment that extends the inalienable right to life already found in the Wisconsin Constitution to all preborn children from conception? (Please see the enclosed memo on the Wisconsin Personhood Amendment [2011 Assembly Joint Resolution 77].)”

Gudex is rated “100% Pro-Life” and endorsed by Pro-Life Wisconsin. In a press release announcing their endorsement, they say: “We are proud to endorse these candidates who recognize the personhood of the preborn child and who hold the principled and compassionate ‘no-exceptions’ pro- life philosophy.”

One Wisconsin Now revealed last week that Gudex had scrubbed key passages from the “issues” section of his campaign website in an attempt to hide his true, extreme views from the public. Today was the second time Gudex has, in a radio interview, lied about his support for the radical constitutional amendment that he signed on to get the endorsement of Pro-Life Wisconsin.

Ross concluded, “The radical, extreme positions of Rick Gudex are bad enough. Lying to the public about them only makes it worse.”
