Racist, Sexist to Appear at Republican Campaign Rally in Mosinee on Wednesday … Donald Trump Will Be There Too
Scott Walker Teams Up With Donald Trump for Hate Rally and on Racist, Sexist Policies
MADISON, Wis. — Scott Walker won’t be the only racist, sexist politician on stage at a campaign rally at the Mosinee airport tomorrow, joining him will be Donald Trump. According to One Wisconsin Now Program Director Analiese Eicher, Scott Walker’s record of racism and sexism put him in the same class as Trump who has bragged of sexually assaulting women and is currently barnstorming the country actively stoking racial fear and division to try to help fellow Republicans get elected.
As if to underscore his racist bonafides, Walker approved and released a despicable ad today attacking Tony Evers on immigration that Eicher referred to as, “The Willie Horton ad of immigration.”
“Scott Walker checks every racist, sexist policy box that Donald Trump does, and then some,” said Eicher. “He’s abetted Donald Trump’s outrageous behavior, he’s joined with Trump and his racist, fear mongering rhetoric and he’s even gone beyond what Trump has done with laws he’s signed as governor.”
For example, Scott Walker has sought to pander to the same racist sentiments as Donald Trump has in attacking people protesting racial injustice and, as has Trump, Walker has dabbled with nationalism, appearing on stage at a right-wing conference featuring neo-nazis and white supremacists.
Walker has outdone Trump in Wisconsin by signing a law repealing the requirement that traffic stop data be collected to track and expose racial profiling. He also had his appointed University of Wisconsin Board of Regents adopt an anti-free speech code that would threaten with expulsion students for calling out right-wing purveyors of racist, sexist, homophobic hate speech.
It’s no better when it comes to sexism. Walker stood by Trump despite multiple reports of his sexually assaulting women and he kept standing by his man as Trump nominated to a lifetime seat on the U.S. Supreme Court and judge with obvious anger management issues and credible accusations of assaulting women.
Walker as governor has also signed measures to defund Planned Parenthood, imposed a dangerous abortion ban, repealed the law helping women hold employers accountable for paying women less than men for doing the same work and allowed men with domestic violence records to carry concealed weapons.
In his first budget as governor, Scott Walker repealed the state law that would have allowed children of undocumented parents who lived here and graduated from Wisconsin high schools to get in-state tuition at University of Wisconsin schools. More recently Walker has joined Trump in fear mongering over a large group of families journeying through Mexico seeking to escape violence and poverty to find a better economic future for themselves and their children — unsurprising given his refusal to condemn Trump’s baby jails and backing of his travel ban.
Eicher concluded, “Donald Trump may be coming to try to rally Republicans, but he’s highlighting everything that has built the electoral blue wave the racists and sexists like Scott Walker and Donald Trump so fear.”
