Report: GOP voter ID laws disenfranchise five MILLION
A new report from the New York University School of Law's Brennan Center for Justice shows new voter ID laws "fall most heavily on young, minority, and low-income voters, as well as on voters with disabilities."
A new report from the New York University School of Law’s Brennan Center for Justice reveals that more than five million U.S. citizens could be impacted by the wave of new voter laws passed over the last year. When it comes to Voter I.D. laws, such as the one passed in Wisconsin, the report says “11 percent of American citizens do not possess a government-issued photo ID; that is over 21 million citizens.” The study also shows that the new laws “fall most heavily on young, minority, and low-income voters, as well as on voters with disabilities.”
