Suder Shuffles Off the State and On To Special Interests’ Payroll

MADISON, Wis. — Mere days before he was slated to start a $94,000 a year job in the Walker administration, it was announced today that former Assembly Majority Leader Scott Suder has taken a different job as a special interest lobbyist.

Suder is a central figure in the roiling United Sportsmen scandal in which he conspired, along with Gov. Walker, to rig a $500,000 grant to a politically connected organization that endorsed Walker in his recall election and lobbied for changing state law to help an out-of-state mining company dig a four-mile wide pit mine in the Northwoods.

“The plot thickens as Scott Suder gets shuffled off of the state and onto the special interests’ payroll in the midst of the Walker-Suder-United Sportsmen scandal.

“It is far past time for Gov. Walker to stand before the people and come clean about what really is going on here. And if he won’t do the right thing, it’s time for the Attorney General to get to the bottom of this once and for all.
