Too Much Time on Their Hands?

The Assembly Judiciary Committee has scheduled a hearing for tomorrow introducing an abortion procedures ban.  One must wonder what the real motives are behind this flawed legislation, because the things addressed in it are already illegal under federal law.  One would certainly hope that our legislators are not wasting this kind of time and money simply to grab headlines and whip up support among the rabid right wing.  Can’t the sponsoring legislators think of any other pressing matters that face our state?  Why the forced focus on an issue that is already covered under federal law?
