Van Hollen’s Whining on DOJ Funds Ignores Cost of Partisan Lawsuit
Wisconsin Attorney General JB Van Hollen is sobbing because his department was subject to some of the same agency cuts necessary to balance the state’s budget in light of the $6.6 billion deficit caused by the failed Bush administration which caused nationwide economic collapse.
Before anyone huffs that depriving Van Hollen of every dime he demands is going to impede crime fighting in Wisconsin, let’s remember Van Hollen devoted countless resources to the partisan lawsuit last year to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters after being giving marching orders to do so in his role as the state co-chair of failed GOP presidential candidate John McCain. Not only that, van Hollen dispatched untold officers and resources to cause trouble on election day 2008. We do not know yet where Van Hollen dispatched his officers, but I’d bet dollars to doughnuts the vast majority of Van Hollen’s “work” was isolated in the city of Milwaukee.
So, before Van Hollen complains he’s not get all the money he wants, he should have the decency to actually show how he spent the money we already gave him.
