Scott Walker Hired to Do What He Does Best, Rig Voting Rules to Get Unfair Partisan Advantage

Over Quarter Century in Office Was ‘Ruthless and Relentless in Trying to Rig the Rules in Wisconsin’

MADISON, Wis. — A right-wing group formed to help Republicans in state legislatures to rig district lines to give themselves an unfair electoral advantage has announced it has retained Scott Walker, former Wisconsin Governor, to help them raise money for their efforts.

The following are the statements of One Wisconsin Institute Executive Director Analiese Eicher:

“Scott Walker was ruthless and relentless in trying to rig the rules in Wisconsin to keep voters from the ballot box and to keep himself and his political allies in power, before finally being ousted from public office in 2018.

“If this new right-wing group was looking for an expert on schemes to prevent elections from being free and fair, they found one in Scott Walker.”

One Wisconsin Institute was the lead plaintiff in the federal voting rights case One Wisconsin Institute, et. al.v. Thomsen, et. al. that resulted in numerous Walker era voter suppression laws being struck down, including limits on early voting, barriers to voter registration and requirements related to voter ID.
